If you’re a music lover, you must have the iHome iHM60 mini iPad Speakers. It’s the perfect setup for  jump starting a party anywhere or just pump up the volume and dance by yourself if you feel like it.

Speakers don’t have to be big in order to pack a big punch and should be very light, so you don’t feel the extra weight in your bag. These iPad mini speakers have a very compact design, which makes them a perfect choice for students.

After some intense schooling, just sit back and enjoy your favorite music straight out of your iPad or music player through these little, but tough sounding mini speakers.

In terms of ergonomics, this Apple iPad speaker system are a little wonder. It has a collapsible design which lets you extend the speakers when using them and compressing them afterward, in order to save space.

All you have to do is twist the top and the speaker will expand and will deliver more sound. When done, just press it down and the area between the base and the top speaker will collapse in a solid, muffin looking piece of plastic.

There’s also a carrying pouch (which is included in the package), so the speaker will be better protected when travelling and the speaker coating is safe from scratches and dirt.

You might have doubts regarding the sound volume a speaker that fits in your hand can deliver. The  speaker has a unique “vacuum bass” technology which produces great sound and a very loud volume.

Although an Apple accessory at its core, this rechargeable speakers for Apple Ipad can work with many other devices, namely all coming with a 3.5 jack. That means you can use it with laptops, netbooks, mp3 players, gaming systems, smart phones, TVs, tablets and anything else you might think of. By getting one of these, you have a global solution for all your devices when it comes to sound.

The speaker also comes with a built in Lithium Ion battery, which gives the speaker lots of autonomy- it won’t let you down midway through a party. Actually, an Amazon user said that the speaker went on for about 8 hours on a single charge, during a weekend getaway.

Anyway, it’s very easy to charge- it comes with a double purpose USB cable, which can be used both for charging and connecting to a device. It will even play as long it’s being charged and there’s a LED that informs you on the status of the speaker.

In comparison with other portable speakers, the iHome iHM60 mini iPad Speakers, which is available on Amazon for $21.99, offers better sound and finer bass. It’s a common problem with this little speakers that the bass sounds usually like scratching a wall with a nail, but this set up offers very clear bass and you’ll get that “pump it up” feeling you usually get from much bigger and more expensive systems.

The speaker doesn’t look very special, but it’s all about what it can deliver when on- but if you’re looking for a very stylish speaker, the bland plastic finish of this one might not impress you.

So is worth spending a little over $20 on it? Considering how little it is and the audacious punch it can deliver, the answer is definitely yes. It has a great design which makes it easier to carry around and easier to take care of it, while the sound quality and volume are nothing short of spectacular. Not to mention that the speakers will work not only with Apple products, but any gadgets and computer which have a 3.5mm  audio jack.
