Zagg’s iPad keyboard case available soon

The launch of the iPad brought business opportunities not only for Apple, but for a myriad of companies. One of them is Zagg, which will launch soon a keyboard case with an optional blue tooth keyboard for the Ipad, as liliputing.com announced. So clap your hands, pull out your Ipad and meet the Zaggmate, the relatively awkwardly named keyboard case.

All joke aside, this little gizmo might prove useful. The case can protect the touchscreen from scratches and other types of impacts and if you’ll go for the keyboard option you can prolong the life of the touch screen..by not touching it so often. The case is made from a very strong type of aluminum which is not only resistant but also strongly resembles the Ipad look.

Despite the strong build, it’s extremely light weight and half as thin compared to similar products. When you’re not traveling, you can use the case as a stand to position the Ipad both landscape and portrait mode. It has a hinge that supposedly has 10 different positions in order to be as comfortable as possible in any situation.

For an extra 30 dollars you can also get the embedded Bluetooth keyboard. This is another way to protect your touch pad and it can be comfortable if you’re lying in bed or have to write a long email (better than a thumb fest anyway). The keyboard has some special function keys for multimedia control, slide shows, home, search and some more. The version with the keyboard will go on with a single rechargeable 510 mAh battery charge for several weeks.

The reason why the Zaggmate is not out yet is because the patent is still pending. We’ll probably have it around the holidays for 69 dollars or 99 with the keyboard included. The only weight you’ll feel with this case is in your pocket, because even with the keyboard it’s only 12.8 ounces “heavy”.
