Unboxing the Asus EEE PC 1015B cheap netbook, with AMD hardware inside

Hey guys, like i promised, here’s the unboxing video of the Asus EEE PC 1015B.

As you probably know, this is the first 10 inch netbook Asus brings to the market boosting the new AMD Fusion platform. The device I got to play with these days is a test version, but is pretty much identical in terms of features and specs to the final version you can get in stores already (still, it is slightly better equipped and test results might differ on the products that will be available in shops).

However, in terms of hardware, this comes equipped with the AMD Ontario C-50 APU, as opposed to the versions already selling, which come with a C-30 heart. We’re talking about a dual-core processor clocked at 1.0 GHz that promises good everyday performance and solid HD abilities, being able to handle 1080p content and even some games.

In fact, the C-50 is the most powerful processor AMD has to offer for 10 inchers these days.

In terms of features, we also notice the 2 GB of memory included, HDMI output and an USB 3.0 slot. And while we’re pretty sure final releases won’t come with 2 GB of memory by default, there’s a pretty good chance we’ll get USB 3.0 on the 1015B when this particular version hits the stores (but configs will differ from country to country)

On the outside, the 1015B is identical to all the other 10 inch EEE PCs Asus has to offer: matte casing, nice design, chiclet keyboard, wide trackpad, good 6 Cell 56 Wh battery.

See the clip below for more details.

Once again, this is just an unboxing, the review will follow soon, probably tomorrow or during the weekend. So stay tuned here on tlbhd.com and you’ll see how well (or not) does this mini laptop perform during everyday use.
