The NC210 is Samsung’s first netbook to be released in 2011 and netbooknews.it got a unit to unbox and review. First, just a quick run through the specs, in order to understand what we’re dealing with. The netbook has a dual core Atom N550 processor, 1 GB of RAM and a 250 GB hard disk drive. The display has a 1024 x 600 resolution, while connectivity is possible through WiFi and blue tooth. More, there’s a bunch of USB ports, card reader, 1.3 MP web cam and a VGA output.
What stands out about this one is the 6 cell battery, which is said to go on for about 8 hours. The keyboard and touch pad are a little different than older models, especially the multi touch pad. It’s bigger than most of the touchpads on netbooks and comes with precise and easy to use mouse buttons. The keyboard resembles in a way the one we had on the NC230, but it’s a little uncomfortable because is now closer to the touchpad and there’s less room for palm rest.
Looks wise, the lid and frame come with a chrome finish, resembling the finish of a MacBook and those of the EeePc 1215N. You might be glad to find out that the lid does not retain too many fingerprints and this might be due a special coating the material got in production, as the “memory” effect is almost invisible on the NC210. The lid comes with a weird pattern design, almost resembling rust, so fingerprints won’t be visible on it.
Samsung NC 210
Also in the box you’ll find the 6 cell battery, coming in its own little box, and the charger. Overall, this seems like a solid entry from Samsung, as it’s the first netbook from the company to come with the dual core Atom processor and the design looks both cool and robust. Stay tuned for the lengthy unbox and preview below (in Italian).
