They keep going and going. After Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab 10.1 inch, the company is said to have announced an intermediary tablet, namely a 8.9 inch slate. The company is currently enjoying a spell of success on the tablet market, as they released the highly successful 7 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab next year and continued with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (the name is self explanatory for the screen size).

Now, tabletpcreview comes with the news that a Samsung rep said that a new, Android powered 8.9 inch tablet will be released in the first half of 2011, but declined to supply any other info. If they will stick to the plan and actually release the mysterious device, Samsung will have products to fit with all types of customers looking for a tablet. Their 7 inch is still selling very good, and the larger models will probably be very successful, as they will come with top hardware in order to take advantage of the features available on Android Honeycomb.

The Samsung suit also said that the tablet will be available through mobile operators, so we can assume that it will come with 3G and 4G capabilities and you will be able to buy it cheaper if you go for a contract. Probably, the unnamed tablet will be powered by one of Samsung’s new Exynos dual core processors. The company started developing them a while back under the Orion monicker, but continued to use Tegra 2 chips for their releases.

Now it seems like they will have enough time to develop the new chip and test it at will, so expect a HD capable dual core processor which requires little power to function (at least this is what Samsung is claiming). We will find out more about this as days go by, so make sure to check back to find out more about Samsung’s future plans for the tablet market.
