The CaseLogic BUA 10 netbook bag is not your regular netbook bag. Most bags have a horizontal design and you have to place your hand on it in order to keep it in balance.
And if you have inside some additional stuff, like a power plug, a phone and anything like that, the bag will tilt towards the heftier end and you’ll have such a great time manoeuvring the bag on a crowded bus or something.
But these horrible things will not happen with this Case Logic mini laptop bag. It has a vertical design, being a slimline case able to hold a netbook up to 10 inch and of course also tablets coming in that standard.
A vertical bag is much more useful if you’re usually travelling on crowded buses, trains and the sort and if you have a lighter main gadget to carry around (which is the case with most netbooks and tablets).
The netbook or tablet is protected by a padded compartment
Carrying one of these around feels more natural and is in a way more “in synch” with the body’s movements when walking. In terms of safety, this Case Logic iPad bag offers the same type of certified security you usually get from Case Logic products.
On the outside you get a nylon finish usually with two colors, while on the inside, the main compartment holding your 10 inch tablet or netbook is padded with some foam layers which will absorb most of the shock of a fall or bump.
Besides the actual compartment for the primary device, there are a couple of secondary pockets where you can place some other essential stuff for a day’s work or travel. There’s room for a charger, some cables, external drives, a small phone- be aware that trying to pile in another tablet will not work and the extra pockets are for small stuff, usually accessories for your netbook or tablet.
But there’s more: in front, you get an “external speed pocket”, which is a magnetically sealed front compartment for things you have to access on the go- phone, flash drive and other small stuff. As with the pockets on the inside, it will not be able to host things bigger than a couple of inches- don’t think about bottles or something like that.
And basically this is the only flaw of this compact laptop bag- it’s so focused on saving space, that sometimes it falls short of providing room for all the things you might need to carry around.
The extra pockets can host some essentials like USB drives and the sort
Not all tablets and netbooks have the exact same size (would be awful if they did), and those with a larger battery might not fit comfortably in the bag and if you want to carry around also an external battery, you might have some problems tucking that in too.
But if you’re aware from the get go that this bag is mainly for small gadgets and their even smaller accessories, you will be just fine.
The Case Logic BUA10 netbook bag, which is currently displayed on Amazon, is very well made and easy to carry around, especially on the shoulder, thanks to a padded shoulder strap.
The vertical design is much more comfortable when you’re on the go
The compartments offer you decent flexibility when it comes to carrying around your essentials- and kind of nothing else. But the most important thing is the vertical design of the bag, which will “flow” with your movements and you don’t have to keep a hand on it and constantly be afraid that it will bounce on your side, like horizontal bags always do. So, if you pack light and move fast, this is surely a great option for you.
